Women Consultants Still Have Everything To Play For – Even In Uncertain Times

Your consulting business isn’t doomed – unless YOU think it is.
Not everyone feels the same way you do.
You may be scared, and worried your business isn’t going to make it.
You might be cutting back on spending, and holding back on decisions.
But if you assume your consulting clients will do the same, it’s you that’s harming your business, not the lockdown.
If you can bring solutions, genuine, clear solutions, there is still a market for your work. And to be honest, if you can’t bring genuine, clear solutions, you were probably struggling before this crisis anyway.
There are lots of industries that are doing well right now.
There are lots of companies who are enjoying growth in the current circumstances and could benefit from your expertise.
For some companies, your services have just been bumped from a ‘nice-to-have’ to essential.
Your current clients still need you. Keep talking to them, and reminding them of the value you have already delivered.
If you can’t do things in-person, offer to take it online – and reassure them you’ll manage all the tech, so they never have to feel out of their depth.
Making money at this time is not unethical. Offering what you have, to people who need it, is not profiteering.
Nobody is accusing grocery shops of profiteering, even though they continue to charge for home deliveries. We’re just grateful they offer a service we need.
You may need to lead clients through the sales conversation at the moment because they might be stuck in a place of scarcity.
You may need to show them how holding back isn’t going to help their business at the moment.
And show them the value you can bring to them.
These conversations may take longer, or you may need to pause for a while, then follow up in a couple of weeks.
But if you make a blanket assumption that nobody’s hiring, you’re blinding yourself to the opportunities that are out there.
The only way you can find out what your prospective clients need is to have conversations.
And if you don’t someone else will.
So while you’re worrying about your dwindling client list, someone else who offers the same thing as you is having their best month ever.
I’d love to hear from you – have you experienced any unexpected benefits to this season of lockdown?
Free Report – The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business
I’ve created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business. It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.
It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.
Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear your feedback and future topics you’d like me to feature. You may also enjoy The Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, the show that takes you from booked up and burned out in your consulting business to THRIVING as the CEO of your 7 figure enterprise.
