Do you ever feel weighed down by your consulting business?

Like you know that it’s not life and death…. but at the same time it can feel like it is such a struggle to grow your business successfully.

On the good days you feel amazing, but on the bad days it feels like you are back at square one with nothing to show for all your hard work (even when you already have a multi-6 figure business 😜)

Here is the way to hold this so that it doesn’t feel like such a rollercoaster.

The emotional rollercoaster happens when we don’t have any boundaries between our personal identity and how our business is performing.

So on the good days -> we feel like we are amazing and can jump over mountains. We feel successful, we feel like we have nothing but opportunities in front of us. And more than this, we feel special.

Whereas on the bad days -> we are more likely to feel stupid, or clueless. We are quick to get discouraged or question if we’re doing anything right. It feels like there is this huge secret that everyone understands apart from us and if we could only just figure it out everything we want will follow. Only it doesn’t 😡😭😂

If the business is going well, we feel validated.

If the business isn’t going well, we feel crushed.

So here’s what needs to change 🤓

When you can hold your personal identity or value separate to your business and how it’s going, it means that one doesn’t determine the other.

Your business can be going through a really challenging season but you feel just fine.

What we are doing here is switching external validation for internal validation. And it’s a game changer, because when you can let go of external validation – the revenue, the success, the clients, what people are saying about you – and instead choose to honour your internal value, it means you can be solid as a rock even on the wobbly days.

It means you can be facing setbacks in your business, and still feel good about life and how it’s going.

It means you can switch off your computer and emails at the end of your working day and forget about it all until tomorrow.

When you practice internal validation, you get your sanity back. It leaves you free to play the game of business and win… or lose (but I think we all know you’re going to win 🤩)

So how can you get started with switching external validation for internal validation? This is something I love to do at my workshops. We start by visualising all the magic and good things we have stored up inside of us. It doesn’t matter what it looks like because the main thing is that we remind ourselves it’s there.

It’s all about knowing that our value is literally within us. It’s not just something conferred to us through money, success or the good opinions of others. We carry our value with us at all time. Nothing can take it away or make it smaller. Whatever goes down, we still have it.

But it’s also good to get specific with ourselves. What is that magic? What are your unique skills and gifts? How can you bring these out more and more for the benefit of others?

If your consulting business has been feeling heavy recently, I would love to help you carry it right again.

If you’re stuck in the low to mid 6 figures and feeling like you would love to be moving forward again, making more money but working less hours -> I would love to hear from you.

I help my clients ground into their inner value, and make the changes they need to in their consulting business so that their offers, pricing and target clients are all in perfect alignment.
