Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail for Women Consultants in 2020

Are you having a hard time making plans for your consulting business?

It’s always important to plan your business and know what your key priorities are for the year ahead.

But right now, regardless of where you are in the world, it’s difficult to be certain about what the rest of the year will involve, and it would be risky to make assumptions that everything in your consulting business will stay completely stable from here onwards.

We may face regional lockdowns, and disruptions in schooling and childcare again or even repeatedly.

Businesses are beginning the process of bouncing back, but it’s hard to know how long that will take.

And as individuals, we need to recover from the emotional strain of life on lockdown. Some of us are physically recovering from coronavirus itself.

Does that mean we can’t make plans? Or that you should lower your expectations of what your consulting business can achieve for the rest of the year?

Absolutely not.

In many cases there is still huge demand for consulting services. Many corporate companies out there need your expertise and advice. And if you plan to go slow, you risk planning for your competitors to take over your future clients.

So how can you plan your business in the months ahead?

I had two separate conversations with clients, where basically that question was being asked. And I realised this is something that other women consultants will want to hear the answers to, so I’ve recorded this podcast episode which covers:

  • The challenges that may come up for all of us before the end of this year.
  • The key questions you should be asking to check in on the health of your business.
  • How to decide whether to stick with your original plan or change tack?
  • Is now a sensible time to be making big decisions or investments?

And tell me, did you have 2020 all mapped out for your consulting business before Covid-19 hit? Have you made substantial changes to the business plans you had in place for this year? Or are you taking it one day at a time?

Free Report – The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business

I’ve created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business. It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.

It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.

Sign up here for your PDF report, and I’ll show you the six elements your consultancy needs to make the shift from a nice little 6-figure lifestyle business to a serious 7-figure enterprise

Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear your feedback and future topics you’d like me to feature.
