Are You The Bottleneck In Your Consulting Business?
This was originally posted on my Seven Figure Consultant LinkedIn Newsletter. Subscribe today to get insights about how women are building powerful and impactful consulting businesses.
What’s on your to-do list lately? Have you put down far more tasks than you can realistically expect to get done in 8 hours or less?
If it is hard to get projects in your consulting business finished and you’re always running to catch up but the number of things on your list is getting longer, you are probably taking on too much.
This doesn’t just affect you. It could mean you are not communicating with your team effectively because you are so busy with your work. Or that you are making promises to clients that you have every intention of keeping, but three weeks later you realise you’ve not sent through the information you said you would or made the introduction you promised to.
And if you’re a high achiever, like me, you feel a deep sense of frustration when you’re not meeting your own standards.
What can be done about it? You might find this a painful realisation, but you are the bottleneck in your business and it often boils down to the fact that you are asking too much of yourself.
This is important to admit because once you take the guilt out of the equation you realise that it’s not personal. You’re not a bad person, or incapable of running a business. You need to put measures in place to make your business work for you and your clients.
In this episode of the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, I am talking about what happens when you, the business owner, are the one holding up progress.
● Wanting to do more than is physically possible
● Why understanding your role in your business is important
● Giving yourself permission to delegate
● Having the right systems in place
● How present you want to be in your business day to day
● Evaluating whether you’re using your time in the best way possible
And let me know – what actions you are planning to make your consulting business rely less on you?
Free Report – The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business
I’ve created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business. It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.
It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.
Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear your feedback and future topics you’d like me to feature.
