Women Consultants, Are You In Survival Mode?

We are looking out into the next year or more and thinking, are we going to have more of what we had these last 2 years? Are we in a new phase now? Are things going to get worse?
This last 2 years has just changed the whole landscape in so many ways. A lot of the consultant women that I speak to have gone from being fully in person with their clients popping in for meetings or delivering the work in person on sites with their clients, to suddenly being in the online world. That was something which wasn’t taken very seriously in corporate before Covid.
I think that it’s such a great thing for women because of the quality of life you can have when you don’t have to commute into a big city in order to meet with your client, you can do it all from home. I know that not everyone loves that way of working, but I think in terms of having more energy, having to spend less money on travel, and just being able to sort of carve your week into less pieces, it’s such a great thing.
Despite this, in a way we’re all asking, ‘when are we going to go back to what it used to be before Covid?’ It’s a tricky thing because it can feel actually quite traumatic, but I think it’s also quite exciting. We’re not going to go back to that because certain things have changed in the way that we do work, business and life that are going to be different going forward. And I think there are some really positive examples of that for women.
On the Seven Figure Consultant podcast recently, we’ve been talking about mindset and money mindset. And often if we’ve had a traumatic money experience or some kind of really stressful mindset experience, it can take us a while to realise that we’re out of the other side and it can put us into this kind of ‘survival mode’ for quite an extended period.

In this episode, my guest on the podcast is Jaclyn Mellone, a mindset coach, founder of the Go-To Gal podcast and of Pays To Podcast. She is my go-to gal for mindset and this is a really helpful discussion as we prepare for 2021.
We talk about:
● What happens when our mindset is not in alignment with where we want to go
● How draining the past few years have been and the impact of that on ourselves
● Being grateful for what we’ve got and still wanting more
● The ripple effect of going bigger
● Being afraid to allow ourselves to go to that next step
● How the rules have changed

Free Report – The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Consulting Business
I’ve created a free PDF report called The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business. It’s my most popular free resource and in it I outline the 6 areas of unscaled businesses that need to change in order to move past being ‘booked up and burned out’ and shifting into that higher gear that gets you cruising again.
It’s the framework that helps consultant women like you find their feet and get back to leading the business, rather than being buried in client work and back-end business operations.
Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear your feedback and future topics you’d like me to feature.
